RoflBux - The site has no money and has changed to ads only so all earnings will need to be converted to ads.

FlashUrCash - The site has now added a TOS and forum but the domain is guarded.

TexasPTC - Update to TOS: "To remain a member of TexasPTC you must be an asset. You must click a minimum of 100 adverts per month. After your first month at basic driller level you must upgrade to Team Manager or leave. If you do not leave you will be Fired and your account will be closed."

AcePTC - After disappearing without paying the site has relaunched and all old members have been deleted. It is from the same owner as TexasPTC which has strict terms.

UggiBux - The site has reopened again. Previous members have not been paid and all old accounts have been deleted.

DualBux - The site is DOA with Page Load Error.

Earn3 - Many complaints about new Instant Payment system. Message from Admin in forum: - "This topic is locked. It is getting out of hand and people dont seem to know how to read. If you have a problem with this site. Do not click. Go to another site. But when that site goes down. You will see that earn3 is still around when all your other favourite PTC sites are gone."

PTPartyPTC - From TOS: "All members from Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Israel, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. must use earnings for ads. No cash payouts will be made to these countries. "

OrdinaryClicks - Join at your won risk. The site uses CrediBurner and is from the same owner as epicclicks which is DOA.

1. Avoid Sites with Free Hosts and Free Domains

Explanation: A lot of new site pop up with a free hosts like webspacemania, 000webhost etc. and free domains like websitename.co.cc, websitename.tk, websitename.co.nr etc. All such sites should be avoided.
Reason: When the owner cant invest a few bucks in getting a good Hosting and a good Domain Name, how do you expect such a person to pay you for a long time.
Best Example: ExcellentBux which started off with a free host and ultimately turned out a scam

2. Avoid Sites with the Default Design

Explanation: Every script has their own default design. For example: YourOwnBux scripts have a white layout and adbux script has a greyish layout and so on and on and on.
Reason: Well, if a user doesnt have his own creativity to get a good design or atleast cannot pay someone to make his site unique what confirmation do you get to say that they will pay you for a long while
Best Example: 5Buxs.cn, still the same old YOB script and design and yet a scam.

3. No Forum? No Support? Not Trusted!!!

Explanation: A new PTC doesnt have a forum or any other means of Support System other than the contact page? Such sites a least trusted.
Reason: This clearly states that the owner doesnt want to interact with his users and attend their technical/any kind of problem with their site, you can never expect him/her to be hanging around for a long while. And you will have the least chances of getting paid.
Best Example: 5Buxs.cn, no forum, no news, no payments

4. Bugs Found? No Improvement? No Payment

Explanation: Generally pre-made scripts like the Bux.to clone and YourOwnBux has built in bugs in them. Found any bug in the script, the most found bug Referral Bug. Verify it with someone who has already signed up before you if the site has a referral bug or not and then you can try your luck.
Reason: When the site owner cant fix a small bug or cant hire a coder to fix a minor bug, how can he afford to pay its users or can fix a Payment Bug or Referral Purchase Bug and ultimately you will be the loser.

5. Default TOS/FAQ/Privacy Policy, Default Payments=No Payments

Explanation: Read the TOS/FAQ/Privacy Policy before joining a site. Scams generally dont update them since they are lazy. You should avoid them
Reason: A lazy owner to update a few details will surely be lazy to pay the site's users or add referrals or premium membership or respond to a Support Ticket. So, what is it now? A scam

6. The Figures, Do they add up?

Explanation: Sustainability in a site is a key factor in the success or failure of a PTC site. Without the ability for the site to be sustainable on the sale of advertising alone, the site is classified as a Ponzi Scheme. Ponzi Schemes are programs which function based solely on the sale of upgrades and referrals, once the referrals and upgrade sales stop, the payments stop too. That is why it is key to making sure the site is sustainable.
Reason: For example if a site pays $0.01 per click then the maximum amount of money they would have to pay to people for a 1000 click ad is $20 ($10 from the person clicking plus $10 for referral clicks). If what they are selling 1,000 click ad's for only say $8 then they are making a $12 loss per 1,000 click ad someone buys. It should be noted that sustainability through pricing applies mainly to bux-style scripts. Also it is important to know the number of the self sponsored ads. Many sites (example: 07bux) are running with 100% self sponsored ads. That means lack of advertisers and site has to be based only in referral packs and upgrades. Aurora's are a different and more successful business model.

As stated earlier, in order for the site to be able to pay people, these loses must be made up elsewhere, in order to create a profit. PTC sites often due this through the sale of referrals and upgrades. When the sale of these run out, the payments will be delayed or in most cases, stopped, leaving the users in the cold.

Well, these are a few tips I can recommend you guys to help you avoid New Scams. More Will be added as I get them in my mind so do check back regularly. But this is doesnt mean all the other sites are legit. Since we have great example around like VelocityClicks which had all these and yet scammed. So, PTC is always a risky business its upto your decision at the end if you want to Join, Invest or Promote a New PTC site

when it is time to run away with your money:

i) Site hacked and database damaged. It is not our fault and the last backup was 2 months ago.
It is very obvious. This "disease" is called foxcashitis.

ii) Alertpay/Paypal blocked our account. We lost (!) money too.
That means your "lovely" admin is already spending your money in a exotic island...

iii) Moving to a new server/under maintenance/upgrading script, coming back soon.
Never sounds better!

iv) Admin is through a tough time in his life (or even better admin is dead).
Admin is very busy in his "real" life.
Admin has exams/college.
Admin is on holiday.
Admin doesn't have the time to run anymore the site
...that's why site is for sale or site has to close down!
We shall not forget that an admin can be an underage person who is running a PTC just for fun and earn (= steal your money) cash for holidays, college etc!

v) Site is under heavy DDoS attacks and DDoS protection is very expensive for us.
DDoS, a good reason to disappear!

vi) You have to invest first if you want to receive your payment
This is the new trend: Pay to get paid! Isabelmarco, crewbux, feelbux are some of the "PTC" sites which require that. Probably admin is so close to buy a brand new car and asks for your help. What do you think?

Some sites truly are having problems or moving to new servers for example. But it is strange, when a site seems that cannot (or don't want to) pay anymore to use these reasons. Guess that most scammers can't be creative!

Autoclickers and Multiple accounts
Just don't do it!

Autoclickers
According to wikipedia "An auto clicker can be as simple as a program that instructs the computer to continually press and release the left mouse button". Even google don't like autoclickers "because of their pay per click advertising system".
Common sense: If you find and download an autoclicker program the same thing can do and PTC sites owners. They can spot easily this illegal activity and apply immediate bans, of course. I am not programmer, but I know that there are many scripts that can automatically monitor all accounts and track autoclickers.
Autoclickers also may contain viruses (trojan, spyware). So be careful! Also do not use Tab + Enter, you may be flagged as an autoclicker. Use only your mouse when you are clicking ads.

Multiple accounts
You'll say: It is very difficult to earn money without referrals. Shall I create multiple accounts? NO! PTC sites can easily understand if you have multiple accounts. Also you'll have to maintain multiple email and alertpay accounts. Every time you login your IP address is being stored in their databases. If they find two or more accounts with the same IP (especially if these accounts are related) they ban them all!
But you may say: "If I use proxies? Can I bypass this check?" You may have some chances to trick the security systems of a PTC. But it is possible that someone else may use the same proxy as you do (and as a result a ban for both). Also owners may check the origin of your IP. If they find that this IP is a proxy an immediate ban will be applied. Plus proxies may hack your accounts, because you must give them your name and pass in order to be able to login to a PTC using them.
Another question can be: "I have internet access in my office and in my house. The IPs are different. Can I create two accounts?" The answer is same. You may trick the security systems of a PTC, but you can't be sure if you'll be "safe".
Common sense: >If you create multiple accounts you'll probably need and autoclickers. As a result you'll have even more chances to be banned.

Serious PTC sites have tough anti cheat systems, so it is very difficult to cheat. There is absolutely no reason to risk a ban in a site, like Neobux for example.

If you have only one account and you are using dynamic IP (=different IP every time you log in) there is absolutely no problem, don't worry.

The Golden Rules
Easy to remember and easy to "follow" them

- Sites paying more than $0.005 per click with more than 50% ref bonus are unsustainable and will turn into scams soon or late.

- Unsustainable programs (self sponsored ads only, charging less than pay etc) are selling bots.

- Do not use the same password.

- Free hosted (or free domain) sites are scams.

- Invest (and think it twice) only, if you can afford to lose all your money.

- Don't cheat.

In case you want to invest (especially from your own pocket) please know that:
[I really dont recommend this]

1) Invest only, if you can afford to lose all your money. This is a basic rule applying not only in PTC sites, but in every type of investment. When investing, you are taking a risk: you may get your money back plus some earnings, you may lose it all.
2) Past performance does not guarantee future perfomance. Another basic investment rule: No matter how many times you have been paid by a site or how fast you received your payments, a PTC can turn to scam suddenly and without "warning". And now no one can be considered as trusted admin.
3) PTC Sites are not magic money makers. These sites cannot replace a real job, but only offer (let's say) easy pocket money for online shopping for example. So, do not believe the crazy (=thousands of dollars) success stories (especially from bux.to & taketheglobe.com). For first time invest a small amount: $30-40. After that and if you wish, you can re-invest an amount from your earnings (for example 50-50)
4) Avoid sites with long payment delays. Investing in a site means that you must start earning money (in your alertpay or paypal account) within days, not within months. Sites which have this "ugly" term, 30/60 business days (premiums/standards), must be avoided.

5) Search and ask. Although most known PTC forums do not respect the freedom of speech you can ask there some questions about the site you are interested to invest. Questions like "Shall I invest there?", "What's your opinion for [site]?" You may receive very helpful answers, which can save your money.
6) Avoid sites, in which upgrades/referrals are very cheap. Why? Because when a site charges $10/year for premium membership cannot afford the higher rates. Scammers in an effort to gain as much money as they can from their "2 week scams" have very low prices, but of course no intention to pay.
7) Don't invest in new sites. The word "new" does not mean only sites which are only a few weeks old. But also and sites, in which you are new member. It is not recommended to invest in new sites. Plus, you have to be member for a short period and get paid too, in a site, before you invest.
8) Don't forget to check if a site is sustainable. Because if it is not, your investment can be characterized as a "high risk" one. Also don't forget how important is the word "bot"...

1) with free host/free domains. It is common sense, if an owner can't spend some money and get a good host and his own .com/.net domain, that he'll not be able to pay his members for long time. A domain costs ~$10-15/year, only!
Hypothetical examples of free hosted sites: www.yoursite.freehost.com
Free domains: co.cc, .tk, co.nr etc.

2) with default design. There are many PTC scripts (yourownbux, securebux, bux_to_clone) and each one has default design, with predefined colors, pictures etc. The same rule applies and here: If an owner can't afford a new and unique design, how will he pay in long term? Also this can be considered and as sign that owner doesn't care about his site. Such sites can be easily spotted.

3) using unmodified YOB, Gen2 or Securebux script. It is well known that YOB script has lots of backdoors placed by the creators/distributors. YOB was the "No1 Pirated Script - 2008". Same and for securebux script. Gen2 script creator/owner (also creator and of securebux) is a known scammer. He was owner of ubux, buxor and bux1 and scammed thousands members. Gen2 now is open source (= free). Expect hundreds of new scams. Seems that creator finished his job; plenty backdoors are waiting unsuspected members and candidate admins...
These scripts need modifications (find and patch all hidden backdoors). In case an unmodified script is being used by a PTC, even if owner has good intentions, hackers can use these backdoors and within seconds site will be hacked...

4) without forums/support. This is proof that owner does not care at all and doesn't want to communicate with members. Installing a forum is very easy. For example smf forum software (which is free to use) can be installed within minutes. However if a site has forum, this does not mean that it is not scam: The biggest scams had/have forums in most cases. Scam sites with forum usually have an abandoned or full of complaints forum. And this can help a lot.

5) with "instant" payments. Some sites, with announcements will try to convince that will pay instantly "soon". The best example is earn.nu (now seems to be dead), a site which was owned by a known scammer: Instant payments was just a fake promise and only for premium (!) members. Invest to get paid instantly? The answer is "No, thank you". Don't believe these announcements. And extra10/earn3 former owner announced that he might implemented instant payments, but finally sold both sites, scammed many members and started a new one (buxout.com). Another example is crewbux, which is promising "instant" payments for honest/elite members (= members who invested hundreds of dollars), only. But the instant payment script is not ready yet (of course).

6) with default description/TOS/FAQ. Scripts also include and a default description/TOS and FAQ. Some sites for example are paying $0.005 per ref click, but in the TOS you may find that are "paying" $0.01/ref click!
If a site does not edit the TOS/FAQ at all, this is proof of a lazy admin who doesn't care about his site and probably has no intention to pay.

Such sites will scam soon (even and after one week!) and are very dangerous: Owners or hackers may try to hack your accounts in other sites using the password you have for their site. Remember, use unique passwords! Also they may try to sell their database (= your email address) to spammers.

No, it is not dangerous, if you know how to protect yourself (and your PC).

Do not invest money (from your own pocket) in PTC sites
If the site you have invested will turn into a scam after a while you will lose your money. Be patient and also be an active clicker. After three to six months you will have enough money to buy referrals and you will also know which site pays and which is a scam.
If you can't wait and you want to invest for first time I suggest spending up to $30-40. You'll buy 15-35 referrals and get your money back within 1-2 months. If you ask me what I would recommend: just be patient...
So, do you want to invest?

Do a google search
Before you register a new account in a PTC site do a google search about the site you want to become member. Google search phrase: Company name + scam (for example bux.to scam)

Referrals
If you decide to buy thousands of referrals, prefer to "split" them in many different sites. Instead of buying, for example, 2000 referrals in one PTC site, buy 500 in four PTC sites. If you have bought referrals do not expect all of them to be active. Usually you will receive 2-3 clicks per day per referral. And remember that it is possible to receive bots and not humans.

Do not cheat
Do not try to cheat (multiple accounts or autoclickers). Probably you will see your account to be banned. Autoclickers also may contain viruses.

Black lists
You can take a look at some scam/black lists to see if a PTC site is scam or not: Paytoclick Blacklist and also check TalkPTC Scam list.

Something else?
Read very carefully the TOS (Terms Of Service), you may find useful information. Some sites for example do not pay; they only are ads exchange sites. Also read the FAQ section. You may find useful information there too.
Don't "blind" click. In several sites there are some ads with title "anti bot detector", "anti cheat link" etc. If you click an ad like this one your account will be deleted and you'll lose all your earnings. These ads are there for auto-clickers and users who do not speak english. So, be careful!

Don't spam. No one likes spam. Especially PTC owners. That's why they ban spammers from their sites. But why PTC owners have strict policy about spammers? Because sometimes users who receive spam mails (e.g here is a great site... and a ref link) are reporting to the providers/hosts the sites and as a result the domain of the site is suspended.
Personal data. Some sites are violating their own terms of service during registration. Sites, which have a term like this: "You are not an employee of [site] and you are not an independent contractor for [site]. We simply create a middle-man connection from the advertiser to the consumer." At the same time are asking for personal data like full name, address, city, phone number and zip code. Such sites must be avoided.
Read forums. Reading forums can help you to find if a site works properly (=pays) or not. Complaints, success stories, active/inactive admin etc can help you to decide if a specific site is good or not.

Payment delays
Some sites in their TOS have this term:
Your payment will be processed and issued via AlertPay/Paypal within 30 business days for premium members and 60 business days for standard members.
30/60 business days are approximately 42/84 calendar. 84 days = almost 3 months.
Extra10.com, Earn3.com and Taketheglobe.com with the waiting line feature, proved that this term is a sign of an unsustainable site. The truth is that owner can pay only 2-3 members per day, max 10 members (reason: lack of funds), that's why these long delays.
Sites with such long payment delays are not sustainable and will fail soon.

Upgrade - Ref prices
Sites that have very low prices cannot afford the higher rates/ref clicks. If a site charges less than $30-35 for one year of premium membership or less than $0.80-$0.90 per referral (purchase) is unsustainable. But this does not mean, that a site with "normal" prices cannot be a scam.

How can I find if an ad is self sponsored?

Sometimes a site may be unsustainable, even if the advertising rates are greater than the amount of money site is paying to its members. If you have a look at the "surf ads" page and find that self sponsored ads are the majority of ads, or even worse all ads, then site is unsustainable. Sites paying $0.01/click (and usually $0.005/ref click) is difficult to survive even if they have and less than 4 self sponsored ads. Example is buxout.com: Four self sponsored ads per day, but site closed after ~6 months.

Example: bux.to
Site pays $20 per 1000 clicks and charges $19.10/1000 clicks. You'll say: "site loses only $0.90, seems to be ok (although it is not, site still loses money)". But if you have a look at the surf ads page, you'll see that there are more than 8 self sponsored ads. It is very unsustainable, that's why sells only bot referrals and has 8+ months payment delays.

Usually, self sponsored ads are other GPT (Get Paid To) sites with the ref link of the owner. If you see 4-5 ads with the same ref link (and also a huge number of total clicks), then all these ads are self sponsored. Also you can check the source code of the ad page: If you are using Mozilla Firefox hit ctrl+u. Scroll down in the new window which will open and you'll see the (real) link of the ad.

Example 1: 07bux.net
When site was up with bux_to_clone script, in the surf ads page had 10-15 ads. All of them were self sponsored. And most of them were other PTCs, with the ref link 07bux/bux07 or something like that. It is obvious that these ads were self sponsored. Site returned with new script (gen2) and erased all members' past earnings. Now 07bux is dead.

Example 2: bux.to
Site has this ad (for example): $3,456/daily. Open it and hit ctrl+u (firefox only). You'll see that the real link is: http://bux.to/sponsored/djkassassin. This ad is self sponsored. You can do the same thing with all ads.

But how can I understand if a site is sustainable?

It is not difficult. You'll need the (user) rate per click, the referral rate per click (std member) and the amount of money site charges advertisers per 1000 clicks. A simple calculation will help you to find if site is sustainable or not:

User rate (per click) + Referral rate (per click) = The amount of money site pays to its members.

Site earnings = Revenues from advertisers - The amount of money site pays to its members.

This calculation theoretically can tell if a site is sustainable. Reason is the number of self sponsored ads.

Example 1: theClickers
Site pays $0.0025 per click and $0.001 per referral click.
The amount of money site pays to its members is: $0.0035 per click (or $3.5/1000 clicks)
Charges: $0.005 per click (or $5/1000 clicks)
Site earnings =$1.5/1000 clicks
Site is sustainable.

Example 2: Zubux
When site was up, was paying pays $0.01 per click and $0.005 per referral click.
The amount of money site pays to its members was: $0.015 per click (or $15/1000 clicks)
Charged: $0.005 per click (or $5/1000 clicks)
Site earnings =-$10/1000 clicks
Site is unsustainable and that's why now is dead.
The earning formula of a PTC of course is more complicated than the simple calculation described above. But the point is, if a site charges less than pays, even if it has tons of advertisers still will lose money.
And now the question is: "How owner earns money from a site which charges less than it pays?" The answer is simple: Site is based on premium memberships and referral packs sales. A PTC can have and some banner/text ads, but this is not enough.
Unsustainable programs, are ponzi schemes and selling bot referrals in order to survive. A bot referral is not a human. But a robot which will click a few ads and then will stop. As a result, you'll not get back the money you invested.
It is not recommended to invest in such sites. Remember that bot sellers are blacklisted by advertisers. Although bots in most cases do not click ads (example), an advertiser cannot be sure for that. It is common sense that advertisers are looking for humans only. No advertisers for a PTC means, no revenue and site will close soon.
Sites losing more than $12-$14 are scams and will live for a couple of weeks only.

Sustainability

The most important thing

In PTC terms, when a site is sustainable, that means this program can live and pay even and for years. While unsustainable programs will pay in a short term only, from a few days to a few months.
Grossly unsustainable sites are scams.
Sites paying astronomical amounts (example: $100 per click), even if are charging more, are scams too: "If this were real, nobody would have a day job and 90% of the world's population would read emails for a living. Which does not happen!"

Very sustainable sites will pay you less than $0.0025 per click. Sites paying more than $0.005 per std click with more than 50% ref bonus are very unsustainable no matter what the advertising rates are or who the owner is. Such sites usually will survive for less than six to nine months, or will turn to bux.to schemes (very long payment delays, cash out limitations, ref limitations, bans without reason etc).
A $1 per click (for example) PTC sounds very tempting. But it is not something more than a big scam. If you don't believe it, find a program like this, register but DON'T invest and after a few days/weeks you'll realize the truth.

Protect your PC from malicious websites.

Of course you already know that you must protect your computer from viruses, spyware etc. So you must have good antivirus/antispyware/firewall software. If you are using the worst browser ever, - Internet Explorer - then you are pushing your luck... That's why I suggest you use Mozilla Firefox with AdBlock Plus and NoScript add-ons. AdBlock Plus will block all bandwidth-consuming banners (= faster surfing) and NoScript will block malicious scripts and annoying pop-ups. Don't forget to clear all cookies (and if you want all personal data) when you logout from a PTC site.

Do not use the same password in every PTC site you join
Some scammers are starting new PTC sites because they want to "steal" your personal sensitive information. If you do not want to see your accounts hacked do not use the same password in every PTC site you join. No need to mention that in your alerpay/paypal/email accounts passwords must be unique too. Example of a strong password: Wsaxc3!f$aD (use lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols, although most ptc sites do not accept symbols). A good suggestion is to use and 2-4 different usernames too. Finally if you join the forum of a site, it is recommended to you use a different email account (and of course a unique password). Forums are being hacked usually easier in comparison with the main site.
Some sites may ask you to set a 4-digit pin, in order to protect your account from hackers. Alertpay asks too for a 4-digit (transaction) pin. Alertpay pin must be unique, for obvious reasons.

Not paying members, no matter which way you look at it translates as scam. Not only is the site cheating by having human bots, but are even admitting that they can't afford to pay all the members.

Every site that requires Members to upgrade to get paid is ripping you off. There are 2 shining examples of this disgusting behaviour.

IM, you cashout at $9 and it cost $9 for a month's upgrade.

ElektricBux, you cashout at $9 and it cost $8 for a month's upgrade.

In other words, all free members are going to get screwed unless they have referrals. Usually these will be free members whom don't want to stay at the site.

For me, this is one of the lowest things a PTC site can do because every one joins a paid to click ads site to, well get paid. Converting to advertising is NOT getting paid.

Scam PTC Check List - What type of ad links do they have?

Earlier we talked about Advertising Revenue Vs Member Earnings, this is really just another part of that discussion but it deserves more investigation.

What you are looking for here is the type of adlinks that are on a site. If a site has too many site sponsored advertising it means they are getting no revenue from advertisement sales. That spells major trouble over the long term.

Referral Links
Look out for these in the advertisements, chances are if there are many and the Referrer is the same then it is the admin trying to get clickers for his sites he is in. The obvious problem being, the admin is paying for the views, but what if it turns out to be a scam site? Answer, no revenue for the site. ClickandBux is a prime example of a Referral Scam PTC Site.

Purchasing from the Site
You've probably seen these ads, they're asking you to upgrade, buy or rent referrals or advertise on thier site. None of these ads will the admin get advertising revenue. Instead the site will end up shutting the doors on Standard Members because they can't afford to pay anyone. Bux.To is the most famous PTC Site to run these type of ads all the time.

Link Exchanges
This probably describes these type of get paid to click advertisements. Generally a PTC Admin will sponsor a certain number of Ad links and this will be repeated by the other site. Usually the Referral Field is left blank. Earn3, Extra10 and AngelBux are an example of this, however those sites are owned by the same network, GPTNetworks. Which means that GPTNetworks is not getting money from advertising and are relying on Referrals to pay members. We call that a Ponzi Site.

Other Site Sponsored Links
DailyClickz was a scam ptc that advertised alot of Citibank Products, it's no wonder the site had no cash to pay members. Adultfriends Network advertisements are almost always site sponsored. There are other "paid to promote" sites, almost all of these are site sponsored

So are you seeing the pattern emerging here? I bet if you have been getting paid to click ads, you've come across almost all ptc sites that are doing this. For some PTC sites they are fine because they are recovering all thier costs through thier paid link advertising, however for most, the writing is on the wall.

The main income for any Get Paid to Click Ads site is from advertising. Don't let any admin on a PTC Site tell you differently because Referrals and Upgrades only worsen the financial burden on a PTC Site because both are limited. The point isn't that they have other streams of income, rather it's whether the site can remain for a long term.

Sustainability Quick Test
A quick test is to add up Standard Member Earnings for a single click and a Referral Commission. You them multiply that number by 1,000. Your answer should be lower than what the PTC Site is getting for selling 1,000 Ad Links.

Standard Member Earning $0.01
Referral Commission $0.005
Total Earnings $0.015 x 1000 = $15.00

So in this example advertising 1,000 Ad links should cost the site around $15.00. In effect the site should be selling advertising for even more because a PTC Site generally gives more earnings and commissions to Upgraded Members.

There have been many PTC Sites which have been caught short of money and looking at some of the new ones that have appeared, it looks like there will be more.

Over $0.01 per click for a Standard Member
These sites never stay around for long and all end up being scam sites, realistically, no-one is going to pay more than a cent per click. PTC Sites which are giving Standard Members good rates are often in it to scam them. Those sites are generally built to leech e-mail addresses for spam mail and for cracking into accounts. Avoid them because none of them stick around.

So we've looked at Advertising Revenue Vs Members Earnings, hopefully you have learnt which sites to be cautious about and not put money into them. There are some people which are cautious about $0.01 Get Paid to Click Ads sites, but I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Scam PTC Check List - Is there a Forum?

Getting back to our check list, a Forum is normally an indication that the admin of the PTC Site is headed in the right direction. If a site doesn't have a forum then that isn't really an issue, unless of course it was removed, then it is.

A removed Forum always means that the PTC Admin has something to hide, and usually it's his face from members wanting thier money.

If the site has a Forum, look around, you may have to sign up to it, which shouldn't be a problem, because it may be an opportunity for you to post a comment on the board. Just remember to alter your Signature with any links you may have. OOooppsss, that was slightly off topic :)

What you're looking for are post regarding late payments, or purchases not recieved, these could be Upgrades, Referral or Advertising purchases. Usually a PTC Forum that is littered with spam means that the admin is definitely gone. Look for payment proofs, when were members last paid and finally, check out any Announcements made by the admin.

So a Forum is a good place to start at.

Heres a little tip, if a PTC Site has removed thier forum, do a search on google for it, you can sometimes get a cached version of the pages.

There are a number of things you can do before signing up to a Get Paid to Click Ads Site, and these are just some of the easier things to do.

PTC Checklist
1. Is there a Forum?
2. Advertising Revenue Vs Member Earnings
3. What type of ad links do they have?
4. Are they paying Standard Members?

While these 4 points on thier own don't mean the PTC Site is a Scam, they are the 4 main reasons sites will become a scam.

Pay to get paid PTC sites are scams.

Creating an account in a PTC must be free.
Example is matrixptc, owned by a known scammer. You have to pay a $4 fee before you register.

Receiving payments, also must be free.
If a site that claims to be a PTC requires members to invest (or pay a fee first in site's AP account) in order to get paid, then it is a scam. Example is crewbux.com: Members have to invest minimum 50% of the next payout in order to get paid or their account will be deleted. Conclusion: Members who want to "see" their money, do not have another option: They have to invest.

Advertising PTC's on other PTC sites

When will this work?
This can be an effective tool, but mainly only for new PTC sites. If you are using an old PTC site to advertise another old PTC site, most likely everyone who clicks will already be a member of that site. One of the good example is PTCSOURCE

However, if you advertise a HOT new PTC , you can really benefit from this method.

It is definitely worth a try. I like to use this with my PTC's that take a long time to reach payout, and the results are pretty good.

Tell your family and friends.

Most people don't think of this even though it is so obvious. Chances are, they do not know about it. They may or may not want to participate, but it can't hurt to ask. Just make sure you don't exaggerate. Just tell it like it is: they could earn some supplemental income for very little effort. But remember, if they get scammed they will blame you. So be careful.

The bonus with this method is that if they stop clicking, you can give them a call and remind them to go back and keep clicking. I wish I could do this with all of my referrals!

Referral Exchanges

Refferal exchanges are forums where you can trade referrals. What this means is that someone will sign up as your referral for a site you belong to IF you sign up for one of theirs.

This method works very well because chances are, you will be getting a very active referral to make you money. The reason is that because that person wants you to be active in their program, they will be active in yours. As long as you stay active they will too.

The drawback to this method is that you will probably want to set a limit to the number of sites you will join. You don't want to sign up for so many sites that you cannot stay active in all of them. So, in this way, there is a limit to how often you can do this, but the referrals you will get will be awesome!

This may be the most time-consuming of all the methods, depending on how much time you spend on it. BUT, it is well worth the effort if you do it right. Squidoo is a perfect site to use as it gets tons of traffic and attention. Plus, you get to see how many people visit your lens as well as what links they click on.

For the best results, you should build a lens that is informative, nice to look at, and well-organized. If you build your lens well, you will get a high ranking and your lens will be featured on Squidoo search, and you will get tons of visits.

You should take some space on your lens to explain what PTC is. This is in case a visitor comes to your site with no prior knowledge of PTC's. You want to explain it in a way that is simple and inviting, but do NOT exaggerate.

Please, do not make false claims to get referrals. If you claim that they will make thousands a month, I promise that once they sign up and see 10 $.01 ads, they will do the math themselves. You don't just want signups, you want active referrals.

To get active referrals, you have to show the visitor how they can succeed in this business. Otherwise, they will be discouraged by the small amounts they will earn at first. Emphasize patience and referrals. This is how they will make money with PTC's, and if they make money, you make money.

When you list your referral links (preferably banners), do not just string them all together, this is unappealing as well as uninformative. Visitors are impressed by numbers and stats. Here I will tell you about my experience with the different traffic exchanges and their effectiveness.
Traffic exchanges are a simple and relatively effective method of building a downline. So, how does it work? Most are manual surfs where you sign up (very easy) and click on "Start Surfing." You will be directed to a framed page where you will view other member's web pages. When the timer in the frame stops, you will be asked to click on a certain number, word, or shape. Once you do, you will see the next page.

So, how does this help you? As you surf, you accrue credits or points which you can redeem for visits to your site. Each one offers a different surf ratio as well as bonuses. Some offer contests which are actually fun and can win you free credits.

So, which are the best sites? Everyone has their favorites, and this is really just a matter of my opinion and my results. I will list my favorite sites as well as the important statistics about each.

When I first started, I recommended the sites to some of my friends and they joined. Unfortunately, I discovered that it is a scam site. So I need to inform my friends to stop. Am I embarrassed? Oh, a great deal.

PTCs continue to advertise on how much more they will pay its members by upgrading and by buying more referrals. In this way, PTCs gain funds from its members, and from these funds, they pay the other members.

The cycle will continue wherein members will be investing through upgrading and buying referrals.

For a time everything will be okay, until the PTCs dry out all the possible members or until the rate of payment to members exceeds the rate of investment.

and when that time comes, the owner runs away with the remaining money...

To have a smooth Business experience with AlertPay, I suggest you get verified as soon as possible. This will prevent your account from being suspended, especially if you plan on having large amounts of money moving in and out of your account.

You will need to upload photo identification and a proof of address on your account.
*Your proof of address must be a document within the last 6 months and can be a utility (electric, water, waste), phone, bank or credit card statement with last name and address matching that of profile.
*In addition, the photo identification submitted must either be a driver's license, country ID, State /Provincial ID or Passport. Please ensure at least two or three edges of the document is visible.

Your documents need to be uploaded to your profile online:
1. To do this you need to log into your profile, then under ALERTPAY ACTIONS press on BECOME AlertPay VERIFIED.
2. You will need to scan your documents onto your computer, and then at the bottom of the page under DOCUMENT TYPES select the appropriate description of the document (PHOTO ID or PROOF OF ADDRESS) you are uploading then press NEXT.

Although this method is still available, we suggest our customers take advantage of the Bank transfer or Bank Wire services, since they are much more secure and you have access to your funds in a shorter period of time.

A certified/cashier’s check is issued by your bank/financial institution, Western Union or MoneyGram and guarantees that you have the available funds. All funds must be in USD currency.

A money order is a payment order for a pre-specified amount of money. Money orders can be issued by a bank, postal outlet or other money services like Western Union or MoneyGram.

Money orders/ cashier’s checks are processed and deposited within 1 business day upon receipt. If you outside of North America please note that we will process your request once we have received the check/money order in the mail.

There can be a delay in depositing your check/money orders if:
1. A certified/cashier’s check or money order transaction was not created.
2. The reference number was not entered on the check/money order
3. One business day has not elapsed

If we have not received it, it is possible the money order was lost in the mail. In this case we suggest you contact your issuing agent and have them place a stop payment on the item. At that point you may re-issue a new one.

To perform a withdrawal from an AlertPay account all members have a check withdrawal option. On a normal site you earn 0.01$ Per click and there are more or less than 8 ads each day. But the more sites you’re registered on the more you earn!

What about the risks?
Sometimes there are risks and sometimes there aren’t. Because there are scam sites and phishing sites. Scam sites are sites that don’t payout, and phishing sites are sites with a script that remembers your password and username.
